Due to some fans snapping some behind the scenes photos, people are getting a glimpse of actor Charlie Cox donning the classic black Daredevil outfit once again. Having worn the outfit for most of Season 1, Daredevil abandoned the outfit for the armored red and black costume seen in season 2 as well as The Defenders.
Comic lovers remember the black costume from Frank Miller and John Romita’s Daredevil: Man Without Fear, which was also the basis for the first season of Netflix’s Daredevil series. Unsure of the context of these fan photos, we do know that Matt Murdock has some “rebuilding” to do after the events of The Defenders (and also the rumor of Frank Miller’s Born Againstoryline being the inspiration for Season 3) and he may have to go back to the black suit.
These shots could also be flashbacks, as we do know that there will be some diving into Karen’s past in Season 3. It was also recently confirmed that Bullseye has been cast, so they could also be flashbacks to help establish Bullseye’s relationship with Daredevil.
For those unaware, Bullseye is Daredevil’s greatest antagonist, comparable in skill but on the exact opposite side of morality. The ying to Murdock’s yang, Bullseye may have deeper ties to Daredevil’s history than previously known in the Netflix series. This could lead to some flashback scenes with Bullseyes scouting the (at the time) new vigilante.
Whatever the reason, fans will just have to wait for the release of Season 3 of Daredevil on Netflix. Until then, we will all keep an eye out for more BTS photos and news from production.
